Proverbs Farm is located in Alvin, Texas, on just
a little over two acres. Our first love is dairy goats,
the Nubian breed in particular. We produce both show
and pet quality animals and strive to maintain a happy,
healthy herd and to continue to improve our herd, both
in conformation and milk production. Our caprine crew chief, Tammy, has been raising goats for 17+ years and is head caregiver, milker, cheesemaker and general goat slave.
Other farmstead animals include a few laying
hens, guineas, a donkey, and a lone rabbit (because they are just
so cute!). We often enjoy a small herb and
vegetable garden and may have extra harvest
available for sale, both at the farm and area farmers
We are phasing out our raw goat milk sales. Unfortunately, Texas raw milk regulations require sales to only be made at the farm, and our busy farmers market schedules make it difficult to be at the farm to meet customers regularly. Keeping a small farm profitable is not easy, and our market sales are what keep the goats fed, so we have opted to acquire a license to offer pasteurized milk products such as whole milk, kefir and yogurt, which will be available at our markets alongside our cheeses. We hope to expand our offerings by adding a few cow milk products made at the dairy from locally sourced cow milk as availability allows.
We and the caprine crew welcome customers at the farm,
but because of our busy schedules on- and off-farm, please contact us
before dropping by. This will also assure product availability. You can also find our cheeses, soaps and lotions at select businesses. Wholesale inquiries are always welcome.
